Back rubber and an employee of “Dr D Naturopath“, Andi Mell is a bit of a failure as a troll. As can be seen here and here, all Andi has to offer is criticism of sentence structure (for a grammar pedant, Andi has an interesting way of constructing sentences himself), lame insults (“pseudo intellectual” and “sad little man” being favourites of Andi), and accusing others of offences which he is guilty of committing himself (regardless of whether they have committed them or not). November 1, 2009His blog: http://hatingautism.blogspot.com
Aliases: ForeSam
Wherever he comes across a blog post regarding autism he will wade in.
Totally immune to logic his pet theory is that mercury causes autism
in all cases and that autism didn’t exist before 1939 until Eli Lilly
invented thimerosal. Is also staunchly homophobic, misogynistic and
borderline racist. He is also a firm believer in the Illuminati and
New World Order.
David Mabus
June 24, 2009Depeche Mode fan and believer in the predictive powers of Nostradamus. Has a fondness for posting Depeche Mode lyrics and video links in internet forums while ranting about atheists. You are advised to approach with caution. And perhaps offer tea and biscuits.

Ruth Rosin (a.k.a. Prickly Pear)
January 25, 2008Ruth Rosin (a.k.a. Prickly Pear)
Appears in science forums – such as this typical post – attempting to convince others of the non-existence of the honeybee “dance language”, and of the inseparability of genes and environment.
Unfortunately her arguments are based on the outdated biological theories of Theodore Christian Schneirla and Morgan’s Canon, whose dogmas include refusal to believe in genetically programmed behaviour, and belief in a fixed hierarchy of “psychic levels” of complexity in behaviour. The latter’s model doesn’t admit to modern developments in emergence: the idea that complex behaviour (such as an ant colony’s mathematically optimal searching for food) may arise from the collective operation of simple low-level behaviours.
It’s hard to tell if this is trolling or simply being stuck in a time warp, but the effect is the same. Discussion is pointless because she refuses even to look at modern theories on computational biology.
Feb 2008: Having failed to make an impression at Bad Science, she has now signed up with the Scientific American Community.

Troll
January 9, 2008Name: John Stone aka Pluralist
Frequently appears: CiF, JABS, BMJ
Interest: Anti Vaccination
Timecubes (1-100): 80
Comments: John is prolific to say the least, with over 300 rabid responses published in the BMJ. Will detour threads towards MMR at first opportunity or Ben Goldacre, for which he has a most peculiar obsession. WARNING! Do not engage – whilst appearing reasonably coherent on the surface, John will suck all vital force from you within 3 posts.
John is now sufficiently paranoid to believe that a reference to media scaremongering over “radioactive paedophiles” is somehow an insult towards himself and other anti-vaxxers. For more on this see this blog post.
Name: John Scudamore aka Whale
Frequently appears: WDDTY; JABS
Interest: anti-logic
Timecubes (1-100): 100
Comments: his whaleto site is a wonder of the modern age; a site so chock full of consipracy theory and bonkers logic it makes you glad you didn’t take lots of acid in your twenties in order to make up the most insane shit up you could: “TWO TIMES I USED A ZAPPER EVEN WHEN IT WAS BURNING HOLES IN MY SKIN: AFTER THE TIME I GOT HELD DOWN AND INJECTED WITH POISON (RADIOACTIVE?) IN THE NIGHT BY FEDS (ALONG WITH FIVE OTHER GIFTERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ONE NIGHT IN THE EARLY DAYS) AND AFTER A RATTLESNAKE BIT ME.”

Name: Mark Struthers aka CyberTiger (aka Celtic Leopard)
Frequently appears: CiF, JABS, BMJ
Interest: Anti-vaccination, sometimes anti-medicine (particularly statins) – with a Roy Meadows fixation and a position on flu vaccinations that seems to be contradictory to that of the practice he works for.
Timecubes (1-100): 95
There must be a law, somewhere, rather like Scopie’s Law, that dictates that as soon as CyberTiger joins in an argument on your side, you have lost. CyberTiger or Cybercat or Cybertwat, (grrrrrrrr!), will NEVER never debate and will always opt for personal insult and nutty insinuation “As a cult follower of rottenscience, you will note that Sir Roy is not the only priceless prat in the Milky Way” Grrrrrr! Often encountered in combo with John Stone. Cast Level 10 twatgone and you’ll survive kiddo.
Name: Angladrion (Hilary Butler)
Frequently appears: JABS
Interest: Anti Vaccination
Timecubes (1-100): 75
Hilary Butler is a liar, according to the popular blog “Jabs Loonies”. The blog post reveals that Hilary’s claim that Dr Bruce Baguley “told me how, when he got cancer, he cured his own cancer with vitamin C and Iscadore” is false. The source of the correction? Um, Dr Bruce Baguley himself!
Not true I’m afraid – worrying how stories change. I have never had a
malignant tumour. I took vitamin C one for a condition that was
diagnosed as a possible lymphoma, but was in fact much more likely to
have been a virus infection. It’s an interesting area but I don’t have
any data.
